Experts from Dubai Police specializing in digital security and video gaming participated in the “Gaming Corner” during the Global Police Summit 2025. They emphasized that interactive gaming environments have emerged as an innovative tool for raising awareness and enhancing digital safety concepts, especially among the youth who actively engage with this form of digital entertainment.

First Lieutenant Hamid Tareem Al Shamsi from the General Department of Criminal Investigations at Dubai Police highlighted the significance of utilizing interactive gaming as a modern means of communication and promoting security culture.

He stressed that Dubai Police’s involvement in the “Gaming Corner” aligns with a strategic vision aimed at strengthening collaboration with international security agencies and exchanging expertise in digital security while benefitting from the insights and experiences of visitors from various community segments.

Al Shamsi explained that the platform primarily targets gamers but also extends to a broader audience, including legal representatives, by raising awareness about hidden risks and challenges that may arise in the electronic gaming environment.

He noted that his participation as a researcher in this field aims to present the key security vulnerabilities observed within games and outline potential future scenarios that may threaten users’ digital safety.

He elaborated that analyzing these games from a security perspective necessitates conducting in-depth studies in collaboration with specialized organizations, ultimately aiming to provide clear recommendations to legislative bodies to regulate and control emerging digital crimes in this growing sector.

Awareness

For his part, First Lieutenant Rashid Mansour Al Awar, a game programmer at the Virtual Technology Center in Dubai Police, stated that the “Gaming Corner” aims to promote the concept of digital safety through the use of virtual games as an innovative awareness tool.

He pointed out that this initiative is in line with the objectives of the “Dubai Economic Agenda D33,” which seeks to establish the emirate as a leading global hub in the electronic gaming industry.

Al Awar confirmed that Dubai Police aims, through this platform, to build effective communication bridges with the community, particularly targeting the youth and younger audience, who are among the most interactive with this form of digital media.
