Mohammed Bin Zayed and Trump Meet with the Nvidia CEO: What Was Discussed?

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, and U.S. President Donald Trump recently engaged in a brief conversation with Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, at the Al Watan Palace in Abu Dhabi.

Following their discussion, Trump addressed the media, stating that the upcoming artificial intelligence initiative with the UAE is poised to be exceptional.

Nvidia has ambitious plans for collaboration in the region, particularly with the UAE. In February, G42 and Microsoft announced the establishment of the Responsible AI Foundation, the first of its kind in the Middle East, aimed at promoting responsible AI standards and best practices throughout the region and the Global South.

March witnessed the announcement of several agreements, with BlackRock, its subsidiary Global Infrastructure Partners, Microsoft, and the UAE-based firm MGX, which specializes in advancing AI and cutting-edge technologies, welcoming Nvidia and XAIs into what has been renamed the AI Infrastructure Partnership.

The primary goal of this partnership is to secure $30 billion in capital from investors, asset owners, and corporations, which could potentially lead to an overall investment allocation of up to $100 billion when including debt financing.

At 62 years old, Huang has transformed Nvidia from a graphics card manufacturer into a significant player in the AI chip market, integral to training and operating models like OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

According to Forbes’ real-time billionaire list, Huang’s recent wealth increase places him among the world’s richest individuals, although he remains outside the top ten.

It is noteworthy that the company’s revenue doubled to $130.5 billion in the fiscal year ending January, with expectations of continued growth exceeding 50% this year, driven by increasing demand for AI infrastructure.
