The German philosopher and sociologist, Jürgen Habermas, has passed away at the age of 96, as reported by his publishing house, Suhrkamp.
Habermas is regarded as one of the most significant thinkers of contemporary times.
His major works were penned in Frankfurt, where he began his career in the 1950s at the Institute for Social Research.
In 1961, he achieved his habilitation at the University of Marburg with his renowned book, “The Structural Transformation of the Public Sphere.”
