Edge Showcases the Capabilities of the HT-100 Helicopter in Brazil

Edge, a globally recognized leader in advanced technology and defense, showcased the capabilities of the autonomous HT-100 helicopter at the testing facility located at the Army Activities Center in Restinga da Marambaia, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The demonstration highlighted the aerial superiority of the HT-100 in providing intelligence, surveillance, and tactical data rapidly, reliably, and instantaneously.

The HT-100 helicopter, which embodies European engineering excellence and innovation in vertical takeoff and landing technology, was developed and produced by Anavia, a subsidiary of Edge based in Switzerland. The expertise of Anavia played a crucial role in demonstrating the helicopter’s performance and reliability during the live exhibition. Representatives from the Brazilian Armed Forces, the Military Police of Rio de Janeiro, and the National Security Secretariat attended the event.

Additionally, the event included participation from the Secretariat of Public Security of Rio de Janeiro, the Federal Police, the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro, the Special Border Group of Mato Grosso, Petrobras, and specialized security companies. The HT-100 helicopter achieved a readiness time of 15 minutes from system activation to takeoff, executing complex flight patterns.

This included maneuvers such as low-speed and low-altitude flying, figure-eight patterns, and circular turns. The demonstration also showcased the HT-100’s abilities in both visual line-of-sight and beyond visual line-of-sight operations, as well as improving situational awareness through instant map generation.

Thiago Silva, CEO of Edge’s Latin America office, remarked, “We are pleased that the demonstration brought together several potential partners who can greatly benefit from the integration of the HT-100 to support strategic missions concerning defense and public safety requirements in Latin America, where the HT-100 helicopters provide a key solution across various operational contexts, designed specifically to tackle the unique challenges of the region.”

Jean André Jorg, CEO of Anavia, stated, “We are proud to present the HT-100 helicopters from Anavia, a subsidiary of Edge, and to establish a new standard for autonomous rotorcraft. Our goal at Anavia is to deliver a reliable and highly capable platform that performs effectively even in the most demanding environments for armed forces and security agencies.”
