5.7 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Panama

A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck early this morning, Thursday, in the southwest region of Arenas, Panama, with no reports of damage or injuries.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake’s epicenter was located 299 kilometers southwest of Arenas at a depth of 10 kilometers.

So far, authorities in Panama and local emergency agencies have not issued any tsunami warnings or indicated any immediate impacts on coastal areas.
