Nine Injured After Emergency Landing of Ryanair Flight in Germany

Nine passengers sustained injuries when a Ryanair flight heading to Milan had to make an emergency landing late Wednesday evening in southern Germany due to severe turbulence caused by a thunderstorm.

According to a statement from the Bavarian police, the adverse weather conditions prompted the pilot to divert the flight to Memmingen, located about 113 kilometers west of Munich.

The police reported that the injured passengers, ranging in age from two to 59 years old, experienced turbulence, even though the landing was ultimately successful.

The statement detailed that one woman suffered a head injury, while her two-year-old baby sustained bruises. Additionally, a 59-year-old woman complained of back pain, and all three are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. Other passengers with minor injuries were treated on-site.

The police also mentioned that the airline is arranging bus transfers to Milan, given that local aviation authorities did not permit the continuation of flights from Memmingen.
