Lana Naseeba: The UAE is Resilient and Will Prevail

Lana Nusseibah, the Minister of State, stated that the United Arab Emirates stands strong and resilient against Iranian assaults, emphasizing that the UAE will firmly defend its citizens and its model of coexistence and prosperity, ultimately triumphing.

In an interview with NBC News, Nusseibah described Iran’s actions as an “illegal and repugnant attack” on Gulf nations and Jordan. She noted that over “1,800 projectiles were launched towards the UAE,” with a majority successfully intercepted due to the efforts of the UAE Armed Forces and global partners, under the framework of self-defense.

She asserted that these attacks are unacceptable and unlawful, highlighting their disturbing targeting of civilian infrastructure; however, she commended the UAE’s defense systems for their capability to counter them.

Nusseibah added, “Life here remains largely normal,” indicating that recent events have demonstrated “the resilience of the UAE, its community, and leadership, as well as the effectiveness of its defensive capabilities and its ability as a nation to adapt to crises and emerge stronger.”

She also mentioned that in early February, she engaged in “extensive political consultations” with Iran and proposed “partnerships and economic agreements contingent on successful negotiations,” pointing out that contentious issues include “its nuclear program, ballistic missile program, and support for non-state actors in the region.”

Nusseibah concluded, “I believe the past 14 days have clearly demonstrated that there is no scenario in which Iran can peacefully coexist with its regional neighbors or the international community while possessing such a ballistic missile program.”
